On the way visit important ancient fortresses and monuments with only superior aim to taste endemic red wine. Visiting rock hewn 12th century city Vardzia provides a good reason to visit local farms baking extraordinary bread. Georgians can’t leave without bread & cheese, accordingly next station is nunnery in Poka, where nuns are making extraordinary cheese sorts, by forgotten Georgian recipes.
