Chaukhi Mountains

Chaukhi Mountain massif  or “The Dolomites“ of the Caucasus contains seven peaks with altitude from 3400 m. up to 3843 m. above the sea level and is an ideal playground for climbers of all abilities. Rocky cliffs of the mountains of mainly solid granite and diabase, offer excellent climbs of different difficulties from II to VI+UIAA, with length up to 700 m. There is a perfect camping site at the foot of mountains, from where almost all routes are possible to climb.

This extraordinary, challenging program starts from Khevsureti province – beautiful but widely unexplored area. Drive over Datisjvari pass 2676 m. to Barisakho village. Trekking route stretches through forest and half abounded village Roshka along the valley, passing mystical lakes of Abudelauri, following to the foot of the main Caucasus range to steep ascent to Chaukhi pass at 3338 m. The last part of the trial explores small dwellings of Khevi province, nestled on the hills, with shepherds farms and meadows. Finally approaching to Tbilisi, the capital city, where emotions, traditions and modern life is tightly interlinked and each participant can find own peace of joy for which it’s worth to come back again!

Chaukhi Massif is a must see place of each adventure lover!
